Book Review Guidelines
I love books! And I love being part of the children’s book community. I am always reading, thinking about reading, talking about reading, or thinking about what I am going to read…and the kind of books I like the best are books for kids.
As a former teacher and school librarian, I often approach a book wondering how it could be used in a classroom setting. How can teachers teach using the book? What are fun activities we could do after we’ve read the book? How does it connect to the curriculum? How can kids and teachers be inspired by the book? These are all questions I might ask as I write my review.
If you’d like me to consider your book to review, e-mail me (adrienne@drtpress.com) first. If I’m game, I’ll need a final copy of the book (no ARCs, please), any promotional materials you might have, and contact information for the author, illustrator, publisher, or whoever it is who’s sending me the book.

I will consider reviewing self-published books – but only if they’re of decent quality. Remember, I have worked for 15 years as a school librarian and I know what a good book is supposed to look like and read like.
I reserve the right NOT to review everything I’m sent.
I reserve the right to get rid of the books I’m sent how I see fit (most likely donated to my local library book sale or to my childrens’ school libraries).
I reserve the right to post my reviews on various book review websites/venues, including amazon, bn.com, and collaborative book review sites.
I will only post positive reviews, which doesn’t mean every book I get will get a positive review, if you get my drift.
